Elon Musk Unveils Tesla AI5: 10x Power by 2025

AI5 - Tesla’s Next Supercomputer is Announced

Yesterday on X, Elon Musk announced HW5 (HardWare 5) which has been renamed to AI5 - a supercomputer that will have 10x the power that the current HW4 computer has…

The discussion around this announcement includes speculation about the potential applications of Al5, such as powering a dedicated CyberCab model, and questions about the upgrade path for existing Tesla vehicles with older hardware.

This update from Elon came in response to photos emerging of massive fans being installed at the Giga Texas data center cooling system.

The new data center will house 50,000 Nvidia GPUs for FSD training.

Tesla Giga Texas Data Center

This is likely all a part of the new Tesla Master Plan 4.

Here are some additional notes from Elon when it comes to Tesla AI:

"Tesla is the leader in real-world Al - nobody even close taking in video and making decisions," he calls it Baby AGI. Tesla is also good at Chip Design eg in car in inference chip, Al 5 is new in car chip... just finished design. No chip on earth we would prefer to what we build ourselves"

"HW3 will continue but HW4 will begin - southside of Giga Factory - Hw4 cameras have 4-5x better resolution and is 3 to 8x better and have more to go to limits HW3. HW4 will be 5 x better. HW5 (AI5) will be 10x better than Hw4 next year. Same chip will go in Optimus!

"Very power efficient compute... in bot and car. HW 3 and 4 are only a few hundred watts"

"HW5 will go to 700-800 watts but contingent on complexity of the scene. At some pt the tesla fleet will be 100 million cars. Each car will have 1 kw of inference compute - this will rival AWS - 100w x 100M cars = 100 gw of compute when not in autonomous mode"

Tesla Reincorporates in Texas

In the following image below you will see the official letter that Tesla Board Chair Robyn Denholm sent out to shareholders, updating them on the plans to officially reincorporate Tesla in Texas following the approval of Elon’s compensation package.

The main reason behind this exodus appears to be a Delaware judge's decision to nullify Musk's $56 billion pay package, which was deemed "unfathomable" and likely influenced by Musk's "superstar appeal" rather than the best interests of shareholders.

Musk didn't take this rejection lightly and launched a poll on X, asking if Tesla should move its legal home to Texas. The poll results were as predictable as a Tesla accelerating from 0 to 60 in under 2 seconds - over 87% voted in favor of the move.
